The COSL Constitution and the Credit Ombudsman Rules state that every Member must have in place Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) Procedures in place. IDR Procedures are rules that govern how a consumer may make a complaint to a Member of the Credit Ombudsman. A complaint cannot be dealt with by the Credit Ombudsman Service until it has been through the Member's IDR Procedures.
