Welcome to the Credit Ombudsman Service


The Credit Ombudsman Service Limited (COSL) is the external dispute resolution (EDR) scheme for the financial services industry, approved by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

The Credit Ombudsman Service provides an accessible and independent dispute resolution service as an alternative to legal proceedings for resolving complaints with a Member. Members include credit unions and building societies, non-bank lenders, mortgage and finance brokers, financial planners and a wide range of other financial services and product providers.

The service is free to consumers.

If you have a complaint about a financial service or product, the Credit Ombudsman Service may be able to help.

If English is not your first language, we may be able to assist you to arrange access to a free interpreter service. The interpreter can help you explain the details of your complaint and translate all related correspondence.
